Charitable Purpose

The purposes of the Trust are as follows: 4.1 To own, maintain and operate a lifesaving sea vessel. The vessel will be used for lifesaving purposes to protect the people of Taranaki; 4.2 To fund the building of the lifesaving vessel (and any replacement thereof); 4.3 To fund the ongoing costs and maintenance of the lifesaving vessel (and any replacement thereof); 4.4 To fund the ongoing recruitment, training and operation of a crew to man the lifesaving vessel; 4.5 Such other purposes which are ancillary to the above purposes; 4.6 Such other purposes as proposed by the Board and which do not prejudice the charitable status of the Trust.”
