Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

Project Restore is a restorative justice provider that provides services through the Ministry of Justice restorative justice programmes. The organisation is unique because it has been driven by victim-survivors of sexual violence and it operates in a way that draws on the expertise of both the restorative justice and sexual violence sectors. To date it is New Zealand’s only restorative justice provider group that specializes solely in addressing sexual violence. The programme is unique in New Zealand and one of only a very few such programmes in the world.

Entity Structure

The organisation is governed by a Board of Trustees. The Chairperson is: Debbi Tohill, Treasurer: Mathew Boradhead. Other Trustees are: Sylvia Yandall, Shirley Julich, and Kathryn Phillips. All roles are voluntary. There is a shared leadership management team consisting of an Executive Director (Services Development and an Executive Director (Business Development). The case work team consists of 14 clinical caseworkers.
