Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

The purpose of the society is to: (a) to foster and promote the art of Highland Dancing, (b) to encourage participation in Highland Dancing, (c)to create funding opportunities for dancers and their parents or caregivers to compete at competitions within New Zealand and internationally, (d) to create funding opportunites for dancers, teachers, parents and caregivers to participate in Tattoos, performances, conferences, seminars and workshops within New Zealand and internationally; (e) to support and encourage members; (f) to raise monies as required for the Sorciety to function effectively and to distribute avaliable funds from community grants and joint fundraising efforts; (g) to promote the dessimination of knowledge of Highland Dancing in Marlborough; (h) to hold local competitions run by the Committee; (i) to host visting dancers, teachers, parents and caregivers or visting tutors holding teaching workshops; (j) to invest and deal with the moneys of the Association not immediately
