Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

To carry out activities to promote and advance participation in making career decisions, careers training and tertiary education in Hawkes Bay (including the provision of scholarships to residents of Hawke’s Bay to attend careers training or tertiary training at any training institution in New Zealand approved by the trustees). To support all proper and lawful initiatives by others which promote and advance participation in careers training and tertiary education by residents of Hawke’s Bay. To cooperate with any other incorporated society or organisation having similar objectives.

Entity Structure

The East Coast Careers Expo Charitable Trust Incorporated is a stand-alone entity which organises the Careers Expo held in Hawke’s Bay. The trust has three members and a wider Expo committee. The Expo committee works as closely as possible with the two City Councils and the secondary schools and training providers of Hawke’s Bay. All Secondary Schools who have had their students attend the expo are invited to nominate a needy student to apply for the Hawke’s Bay Careers Expo scholarships.
