The administration, promotion and development of Coastguard Operations in the Hawke's Bay area, saving lives at sea and aiding vessels requiring assistance. Educating boating public in marine safety, raising awareness in the general public of CG objectives. Promoting the health and safety of all participants in CG activities. Develop and train operational volunteers - skippers, crew, radio operators, search and rescue coordinators. Be an active member of RNZCF and Coastguard Eastern region (CER)
