Charitable Purpose

Mataatua Sports Trust focus on the development of leadership and organisations capability, tradition Maori sports and contemporary sport and recreation through our programme delivery to school and Marae, involving children and adults totalling approximately 2000 per year. Our organisation is based on the following: Vision Statement “More Active Healthy Maori” – “Mataatua Waka Whakatangata Kia Kaha” Mission Statement “To promote active lifestyles and enhance the well-being of Maori within the Mataatua “Rohe” by reviving traditional sports and recreation for participation in activities for Iwi, Hapu, Whanau, and Waka” Values Tikanga Maanakitanga Whanaungatanga – Commitment Honesty Pride
