Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

Mid Canterbury Playcentre Assn is comprised of 7 Playcentres in and around the Ashburton Area. We provide Administration Support and guidance and Education courses to our centres so that they can run their centres, upskill as parents and provide a quality Early Childhood environment for their children. We believe that the family is the fundamental unit in the community and is to be valued, promoted and supported as we feel that parents are the first and best educators for their children.

Entity Structure

Mid Canterbury Playcentre Association membership consists of Parents of the 7 centres who have children enrolled and individual members employed by the association. The Association votes from this membership people to be part of the Board of Management to manage the affairs of the association, to support the centres and provide the training for the parent education programme and upholding of the Association Constitution.
