Reason why charity is no longer registered:

The Anglican Diocese of Christchurch has reviewed the way in which it is structured in terms of the entities within the Diocese both structurally and operationally. As a result of this review it was decided to create a separate entity which would offer ministry support to both the Diocese and the parishes within the Diocese. As the Diocese would no longer receive donations or have significant cash flows, there would no longer be a need for the Diocese to remain as a registered charity. The Diocesan Synod in September 2018 agreed to deregister the Diocese and establish the Anglican Diocese Ministry Support Centre as a registered charity, with the parishes all remaining as registered charities.

Entity Structure

The Diocese is governed by the Diocesan Statutes & Regulations of the Anglican Diocese of Christchurch. The Diocesan Synod is the overall representative governing body in the Diocese & meets at least once every year as determined by the Bishop. Standing Committee as "Synod out of session" is responsible for the operational governance. Standing Committee delegates consideration of financial matters to the Finance & Audit sub-committee & appoints a manager to oversee & discharge Diocese business.
