Purpose & Structure
Charitable Purpose
Hamilton North Community Patrol (HNCP) is a voluntary group of people who give up their time to help the police to make their local community safer for everyone. They patrol in pairs and act as "eyes and ears" for the police. They note anything that could be suspicious and inform the police immediately if incidents require urgent attention. HNCP is also involved in other activities that build community resilience such as Civil Defence and emergency management. Community Patrols, by use
of pro-active and direction, based on police intelligence and direction, reduce the risk of crime occurring. HNCP has continued holding Safer Plates events where vehicle owners can bring their vehicles and have their Number Plate screws replaced with ‘safer screws’ that reduce the chance of their plates being stolen.
