Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

The Society collects, stores and makes available historical information about Houghton, Island and Owhiro Bays , at the Island Bay Community Centre, publishes "Southern Bays" annually, a quarterly newsletter, and other publications; arranges quarterly meetings with a guest speaker at the Baptist Church, 284 The Parade on a Monday in February. May, August and November; maintains a watching brief on historical issues of the Southern Bays
