To promote the study of family histories, genealogies and kindred subjects. To provide assistance for people wishing to complete family histories. To encourage the preservation of records having a genealogical or historical or educative value. To provide family history and genealogical education services to the public by means of access to specialist library facilities and training. To encourage, support and assist the study of local history.
