Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

1. Preserve, present and enhance understanding of the cultural and natural history of the Kāwhia region and facilitate the sharing of stories of Kāwhia and its place in the world. 2. Encourage greater awareness, understanding, appreciation and conservation of the Kāwhia Moana Harbour's environment. 3. Collect, preserve, research, display and interpret objects and information relating to these objectives. 4. To use our collection and staff/volunteers to act as an information source on the Kāwhia region and assist visitors in an appreciation of the local places of interest and tourist sites.
