The aim of KCH is to empower families and individuals through education and support - to be self-sufficient, independent and to work towards changing attitudes and behaviours to manage their everyday lives. The primary benefits/outcomes that KCH considers the most primary role is 'ensuring clients can access support so that they are able to meet their basic needs - food, warm shelter, clothing, safety, medicine'. The Kaitaia Community House (KCH) was established in 1989 as an Incorporated Society. As a community sevice provider, the Society has a 27yr legacy of service to its community. Geographically, the KCH serve the rural communities of 'Te Hiku O Te Ika' - The Far North. KCH is an accredited member of the new Zealand Federation of Family Budgeting Services and holds the highest level 4 Standard of Service Provision with the ministry of Social Developement.
