Charitable Purpose

Provides emergency accommodation, 24 crisis line service, counselling, support and advocacy to women and children experiencing domestic violence within the community and services extend to rural areas.

Entity Structure

There are 40 member refuges nationwide with the National Office including the fundraising entity are based in Wellington. Member refuges are regionally represented and meet 2-4 times a year at regional level. They also attend the national Annual General Meeting . The 8 governance board members are elected by their region and serve a 3 year term.
