Charitable Purpose

The St James Union Parish is a visible expression of the body of Christ in Woodville and Districts. It consists of a congregation of members who worship and witness as Christian people, cooperating together and following the traditions of the NZ Methodist and NZ Presbyterian Churches. There are also many in the Woodville district who although not part of the regular congregation regard the congregations that formed it (St David's Presbyterian and Woodville Methodist) as their church of origin

Entity Structure

An unincorporated society. The day to day running of the Parish is governed by the Guide to Procedures of UCANZ, the Uniting Congregations of Aoteoroa New Zealand. The parish consist of one congregation. Business decisions are made by the whole congregation, normally at a quarterly meeting. The parish officers are the Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer (who are appointed annually by the parish meeting). The Chairperson and Secretary are also the Elders of the Parish..
