Purpose & Structure


Charitable Purpose

The Mission and purpose of the entity is to provide hostel living for students from the Taranaki Province who are enrolled at FDMC and whose parents are desirous of having their boys enrolled at FDMC in a Hostel environment that reflects their home environment, so they are able to enjoy a top quality Catholic, LaSallian education and be well prepared for adult life. The Boarders are, in many ways, the heart and soul of the College. Whilst they can never replicate home, the boarding care, support and supervision for the young men entrusted to them. Boarders are accommodated in four-well resourced buildings providing accommodation for up to 130 boys. Rooms vary from semi-divided two-bed dormitories for students in Year 9, through to single bedrooms for students in Years 12 and 13. The buildings incorporate kitchen, dining and laundry facilities as well as spacious television and common rooms for indoor recreation.
