Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

MISSION STATEMENT To present the history of our town & District in ways that recognise and explain our shared past as the foundation of our future. Purpose: To preserve, protect and promote our local heritage for the benefit and enjoyment of all peoples, while acknowledging our Maori culture and Tikanga. Objectives: Our collection will relate to Te Aroha and its rich history relevant to Tangata whenua, gold mining, tourism and farming. Aim: To conserve the past for the future by collecting, cataloging and providing an educational resource for the local community and for museum visitors.
