Charitable Purpose

Making life better for all people affected by dementia. Kia piki te ora mo ngā tāngata mate pōrewarewa. Our vision: To create a centre of excellence that delivers high quality, culturally appropriate services that optimise independence, health, wellbeing and quality of life for people living with dementia, their family and whānau in the Nelson Tasman region. Mission statement: Leading the Nelson/Tasman community to make a positive difference for all people affected by dementia. Alzheimers Nelson Tasman offers Information and resources, support, advocacy and education for people living with dementia and/or their primary care partner and extended family/whānau in Nelson, Tasman and into the Golden Bay area. Our staff advise and support people over the phone and via video conference (one-on-one or in groups) and through home visits and group sessions. We also inform people of services they may be eligible for and help them access relevant support.
