Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

To eliminate unnecessary blindness from glaucoma by: Enhancing public awareness about glaucoma. Supporting and informing people with glaucoma. Providing continuing education for health professionals involved in glaucoma care. Supporting research into glaucoma in NZ.

Entity Structure

We have five Trustees that constitute our governance board, comprising three registered ophthalmologists and one registered optometrist and one lay person. One ophthalmologist holds the position of Chairperson/Scientific Director. Our day to day operations are overseen by a team of two paid employees - a General Manager, and Office Administrator. We also have a number of volunteers who assist at our nationwide Public Meetings, Community Education Meetings and Support Groups.
