Purpose & Structure


Charitable Purpose

WestREAP was established to carry out the following aims: 2.1 To provide educational support and assistance for all sectors of the community; from Grey and Westland districts between the Punakaiki River in the north, across to Lake Christabel in the east, down to Arthurs Pass, following the Canterbury /Westland provincial boundary to Haast Pass in the east, across the Awarua Bay at the Coast in the south west. 2.2 To provide activities which enhance and promote lifelong learning opportunities, community development and personal development. 2.3 In providing educational support and assistance, to ensure that these are accessible, appropriate, safe, affordable, fair and equitable and encourage people to assist themselves and become more independent. 2.4 To encourage active community involvement in the above objects. 2.5 To operate in all matters in ways which are empathetic with the objectives of the Treaty of Waitangi.
