Charitable Purpose

Children's Rights Alliance Aotearoa (Incorporated) seeks to promote respect for children and youth and their rights. Our constitutional purpose is to prepare and present the civil society report on how well Aotearoa NZ is implementing the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC).Periodic reviews take place every five years and we have just participated in our 5th session with the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child.

Entity Structure

CRAANZ is a coalition of NGOs, families and individuals. We are run by a volunteer Steering Committee which is elected at our AGM. The Steering Committee is comprised of individuals with a mix of expertise in health, youth justice, education, disability and social services. The members are well known in their respective sector groups and collectively, can draw on a diverse range of experiences from through out Aotearoa New Zealand.
