To complete your application online you will need to create a user account first. When applying online you can expect it will take up to 20 minutes to complete the application for registration. Please note that an officer of your organisation will need to certify that the information in the application is correct.

This application form contains questions on the following:

  • Your name
  • Address for service
  • IRD number
  • Company Registration Number
  • Organisation type
  • Charitable purpose and rules
  • Source of funds, areas of operation and activities
  • Officer(s) details

You will also need to supply the following supporting documents:

  • The constitution, rules or governing document of your organisation
  • Officer Certification Form for every officer in your charity including signatures

It would help us if you could also supply:

  • If you are a marae on land that is Maori Reservation, a copy of the Gazette Notice

The supporting documents may be uploaded online as you enter your application details, or uploaded after you submit the application, or posted.

Once you have submitted your application:

  • you will also have an opportunity to submit a request for information on the register to be withheld from public access
  • you will receive an email acknowledging receipt of your application
  • we will contact you if we require further details to complete your application
  • as we process applications in the order we receive them you may not hear from us until you are registered
  • you will receive an email or letter informing you of the outcome of your application
