Charitable Purpose

The vision of Rainbow Youth Incorporated (the "Society" or "RY") is: "All young people thrive in Aotearoa, he waka eke noa (A waka which we are all in together, without exception)" OUR MISSION “To create social change in Aotearoa by providing support, information and advocacy for queer, gender diverse and intersex youth, their friends, whānau, and communities.” OUR VALUES Affirming and empowering young people from all walks of life Young people determining their journey Proactively and respectfully honouring Te Tiriti o Waitangi Strengths-based advocacy For youth, by youth

Entity Structure

The Society is governed by an Executive Board of young people aged under 28 years. The Board is elected by the full members of the Society. (Anyone is eligible to be a full member who is under 28 years of age and supports the aims and purposes of the Society, per the constitution.) The Executive Board presently comprises two co-chairpersons, a treasurer, a secretary, a Tangata Whenua representative and 3 other executive board members. The Board employs the Executive Director.
