Purpose & Structure


Charitable Purpose

The provision of support, education, information and advocacy services to people affected by Multiple Sclerosis, Huntington's Disease, ME/CFS, Fibromyalgia and allied neurological conditions. Our vision is to provide sustainable effective services, supporting, informing and empowering all clients of MS Waikato /DHB region and those upon whom their condition impacts.

Entity Structure

MS Waikato is governed by a board of Trustees, currently 5 Trustees. Trustees are elected for a two year term. The board must consist of not less than 5 Trustees who are able to co-opt up to 4 additional Trustees. Trustees elect a Chairperson and a Deputy Chairperson. There are 4 part time paid staff, 3 are Client services staff who are responsible for providing support services to clients and their families and an Administration Manager. Staff hours are equivalent to 2.52 FTE.
