Charitable Purpose

New Zealand Association of Gerontology Incorporated (NZAG) is a multidisciplinary organisation committed to understanding ageing and promoting the interests of older people. The aims of NZAG are: To promote study and quality research on ageing; To encourage age-related training and continuing education; To stimulate debate and action on improving the wellbeing of older people; To actively contribute to public discussion and policy on ageing; To provide a forum for networking and exchanging ideas.

Entity Structure

The Association is governed by a Executive Committee comprising President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and Regional Representatives. The Regional Representatives are from Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin. Membership categories allow for cross-sectional representation and include individuals, students, un-waged, corporate and non-profit organisations. Areas of focus are Strategy; Communications and Marketing; Policy and Advocacy; and Education and Research.
